Bovada Replaces Bodog Poker In The United States Poker Market

December 19, 2011 | by admin |

On Dec 14 Bodog Poker was officially renamed as Bovada Poker. The Morris Mohawk Gaming Group (MMGG), who has been the united states licensor of Bodog Poker, will run Bovada Poker. It had been announced in July that Bodog intended to withdraw from the US poker market fully and reported the launch of an special Poker web site only for US players. We’ve since learned this new site is Bovada Poker.

What impact will this have on players?

For US players, Bodog Poker will not be offered. Instead, they’ll need to download the Bovada Poker software from the web site of Bovada Poker. The poker accounts of US poker players at Bodog Poker have been moved to Bovada Poker. US players need not register again, they will use their Bodog Poker usernames and passwords

For non US players, the bad news is that the new online poker brand is intended only for US poker players and does not accept non US players. Players from other regions of the world can still play against US opponents while playing at Bodog Poker since both US players and non US players exist on the very same network. Really the only difference is the access point.

This major change should be seamless and isn’t gonna affect the player traffic on the network. The rebranding of Bodog Poker to Bovada Poker is predicted to offer the network a plus. It should mean an increase in the amount of players on both Networks making the whole network stronger to combat Merge Poker which reported that it’ll start accepting US players again. click here to read a full Bovada Poker Review
